On Saturday 1st October, our dear brother, Rev Tom Armstrong was ordained a priest.  Our celebration took place at the John Pounds memorial church in Portsmouth.  He was ordained by the Rt Rev Terry Flynn, UECC presiding bishop.  Our community used the New Sarum Missal for the first time, only recently promulgated in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Bishop Terry’s Episcopal Ordination.

It was announced today from the pulpit that three Liverpool Churches from within one Pastoral area (Deanery)are to close at Easter 2011. A brief note from Archbishop Patrick Kelly announced the closure of Our Lady of Good Help, Wavertree, St Paschal Baylon and St Gregory’s in Netherley. I’ve just enjoyed the Papal Mass from Glasgow and was really anticipating enjoying the Mass parts by Macmillan. I have to say I was disappointed.
